Volunteers

Since its creation, HeLP has connected children and families living in over 124 of Georgia’s 159 counties with vital public health legal services.  Dedicated volunteers and lawyers employed by Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) assist in meeting the demand for legal assistance. Volunteers provide direct legal services, cover office hours at HeLP’s offices, offer counsel and advice to families, participate in in-service educational programs to healthcare professionals, assist with systemic advocacy projects, and conduct research on pressing issues.  Attorney members of the Advisory Counsel have placed cases with expert attorneys within their respective firms.  Pro Bono partners, such as Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation and the Pro Bono Service of the State Bar of Georgia, identify willing volunteers in the corporate world and in rural Georgia.  HeLP also maintains a database of volunteer lawyers. To volunteer to help HeLP, please contact Joquita Etchison, HeLP’s Office Manager, at 404-785-2005.
